How it's made
There is nothing mysterious about it: wood, skilled hands and a lot of love for climbing. But the way they come together changes the result, and since you hold the piece in your hands every day, it is worth telling.
- 01
The wood
Pine for everyday hangboards and edges, birch plywood for Edge Duel, olive for the finest edges, solid fir for the custom wall beam. Wood is not steel: every board has its own moisture, grain and knots. That is why pieces are picked one by one, and those with a knot in the wrong place end up in the stove, not in the box.
- 02
The drawing
Before it exists in wood, every piece starts as a drawing: sizes, depth of the holds, rounded edges. Every detail is made for a climber's fingers.
- 03
The finish
Every piece is finished by hand: the edges are sanded until you can no longer feel them under your fingers, it is checked, and it leaves in a recycled cardboard box.
Looking after it
Do not leave the wood in the sun for weeks or in a damp cellar. If after a while the surface dries out and feels rough, a pass of fine sandpaper and a drop of linseed oil bring it back. Nothing else is needed.
